Laugh? We couldn't stop! Another successful weekend at the Langdales. The "Back To Skool" class of unruly rebels were (un)successfully kept in order by the very (in)capable Mrs Jackson for one of the funniest nights ever had! Oh - and lots of good dancing too. Thanks again for everyone who attended - can't wait for our next trip in November. |

| New Year Party |
A "Strictly Posh Do" for our New Year Party. Brilliant party atmosphere all night long with fun and laughter all the way. I really enjoyed seeing in the new year with all the best people there!!! (Even though it was a day early) Also a big Thank You to Darren Busby who came to visit us for the first time and sang all our favourite songs for us to dance to. We will definitely be inviting him back again. HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE X

| St Annes (December 2008) |
Another fun weekend with Chris Raddings entertaining us on Friday night. Brilliant as usual with lots of good dancing to be done. Saturday night fancy dress was hilarious and Santa made a surprise appearance - IN DUPLICATE !!! Once again can I say a big thank you to all the wonderful people who attended and made the weekend the success that it was - it just gets better every time.

| St Annes (March 2008) |
Another fun-filled weekend with all the best people there! Brushwood entertained us on Friday night and kept the dances flowing with a string of great songs, new, old and original material to keep everyone happy. Thanks to everyone there - not long till our next trip in December!!!

| Nancy Hays |
What a great night we had with Nancy when she visited our club to sing for us. She has a wonderful voice and a lovely personality. She sang lots of great songs for us, including of course "Come Dance With Me" and also a song she wrote herself called "Dad". We enjoyed it so much that we choreographed a dance to it, also called "Dad". See the dances page for the script. She was supported on the night by Tony and Mel who perform as "Orange County". They were a big hit with everyone here and all are asking that we have them back again. Well done lads - we loved you!

| St Annes (November 2007) |
Another fantastic fun filled weekend with "Hillbillies Galore!" As usual everyone entered into the spirit of the weekend to make it thoroughly enjoyable. I count myself very lucky to have such great people as friends. And of course - "Mr. Chris Raddings" - our very own "Mr. Blackpool" - on top form as usual to keep us all dancing and smiling. He is back with us again next December. We are all ready and waiting to go to St Annes again in March with singing duo "Brushwood" joining us for the first time.

| Our first visit to the Langdales Hotel in St. Annes was a great success! Lovely hotel and excellent service, many thanks to all the staff. Goldstryke on Friday evening kept the floor full and everyone happy as usual, and on Saturday evening - ELVIS! was in the building. A night to remember for a long time to come! Also many thanks to all the lovely people who came with us to dance and laugh the weekend through - you are the real stars!!! Click here for pictures |

| Blackpool Weekend |
Well! What can I say? Every time we have been away for our weekend of fun and dance we have always had such a great time, and this time was no exception - it just gets better and better and it's all down to the wonderful people who attend. What a fantastic bunch they all are! As usual Chris Raddings was on top form for us and Carl Shay, joining us for the first time, kept us all happy and the floor full. They are both very entertaining and fun singers. The duet with both of them singing "Something In The Water" for "It's A Beast" was something else! Never to be bettered!!! You really had to be there. We have had some marvellous times at The Albany but now our weekends away have become so popular that unfortunately it is no longer big enough for us. So next year we are moving to a bigger hotel, The Langdales in St. Annes. The first trip in March is already sold out, and I am sure we will make some more wonderful memories there. Thanks again to everyone. Click here for pictures |

| Sunday Funday |
Many thanks to all those who supported our fund raising event for St. Thomas' Hall at Sutton. As usual, there was lots of fun and frivolity and a total of £276.38 (helped by "Eileen's Famous Baking") was raised towards the refurbishment of the hall.

| Blackpool (Easter Bonnets) Weekend |
| Easter came early to 'Owzit Start? (along with the snow!!) Everyone donned their best bonnets for a weekend of fun and frivolity at Blackpool. What a great bunch of people the dancers are! Thanks to everyone who attended. The guest artists, Paul Taylor and Owen J Reynalds, kept us all dancing and laughing until late into the night. These weekends away just get better, and we are already looking forward to the next one. Click here for pictures |

| Bonfire Night Special |
Thanks to all who attended the social night, I hope you all enjoyed it. We were very honoured to be visited by "The Man" himself - Mr. Guy Fawkes! Once seen never forgotten! Luckily he left the bomb at home so the village hall is still standing!

|
| Blue Rodeo |
On their first visit to our club this Merseyside Duo kept us busy to the very end of the night. New and old dances and fun and laughter were the ingredients for a very successful evening. The evening finished with a rendition of "Best of Friends" as it has never been sung before! This is what line dance is all about - ENJOY! The boys also commented on what a friendly, happy, fun crowd you all were - Thanks to all who came and made the night so very special.

|
| Billy "Bubba" King |
With his great voice and lovely personality we could not help but enjoy the night. Billy travelled a long way for this, his first visit to our area. I am sure it won't be his last. As a dancer and instructer himself, he is right up to date with all the new dances as well as old favourites and his own material too. What a talent he has, the floor was full and the room was full with cheering and applause.
|
|
| Paul Bailey |
What a brilliant night! Many thanks to all who joined us and a warm welcome to some new faces, I hope we see you again soon. Paul kept the floor full as ever with all our favourite dances and the night flew by with a fantastic atmosphere. We would love to have him back again soon.

| Blackpool Weekend |
The weekend coincided with two very important weddings (Ken and Deirdre and Charles and Camilla), so we decided to dress for the occasion to toast the happy couples. As you can see, we had some very distinguished guests! We had a brilliant weekend with guest singers Chris Raddings and O.J. Reynolds to entertain us. Our new slogan for the weekend was "The people make the party" and that has never been more appropriate to describe the wonderful people who all joined in the fun to make it truly a weekend to remember. We're all looking forward to our next weekend away in November.

| Christmas Party (Anita Ray) |
|
|
| Sunday Funday |
£230.00 was raised on the afternoon by the very generous people who attended. What better way to spend an otherwise dreary and cold November afternoon. Special thanks go to Eileen who worked very hard by supplying a buffet and tea and coffee, the proceeds all going towards the effort and to those who helped to wash up as well. Also thanks to everyone who donated raffle prizes, there were so many that some of the winners won't need to do any Christmas shopping! The money is going to help towards much needed refurbishments to the hall so it was really nice that people from other clubs turned up to support the afternoon. We are always pleased to see you. Thanks also to Rev. Michael Cowgill and his wife Ann who came along to thank us and to receive the money. A very successful afternoon!

|
Chris Owen Congratulations to Chris on the birth of his new son. Unfortunately, the timing of his arrival meant that Chris did not make it to Sutton to sing for us. Nevertheless, we went ahead in true line dance style and had a wonderful night dancing to all our favourite cds. Thanks to everyone for being so understanding and supportive. I thoroughly enjoyed the evening with all of you.

|
| Halloween (class night) |
Well done to everyone at all three class nights who made the effort to dress for the occasion. You all looked brilliant (dare I say - for some it was an improvement!) Don't forget the Christmas parties are soon to be here and the theme is to be Red and Gold. (with Anita Ray at Sutton and with Chris Raddings at Otley)

|
| Trick Rider |
Chris and his band kept us happily dancing through the evening. What brilliant guitar playing and harmonies. Fantastic to watch and to listen to, this band gave us everything we could ask for at a line dance social night. We will soon be asking them for a return visit.

| Scarborough Weekend |
What a wonderful weekend we had at the Grand Hotel. Good friends, good dancing and wonderfully entertained by The Saloon Drifters on the Friday night. Saturday night we partied and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. Even the weather was good to us and we had sole use of the Palm Court Ballroom overlooking the beach and the sea. We all agreed that we must do it again soon.

| The Kenny Johnson Duo |
What a great night with these talented musicians. Brilliant to listen to and to dance to, they kept everyone entertained with their fantastic singing and guitar playing. Thanks to all who attended, I'm sure you enjoyed the night as much as I did. [I enjoyed it immensely and found it so refreshing to dance familiar dances to such different songs - Steve]

| Blackpool Weekend |
The weekend away at Blackpool was a runaway sucess. Many thanks to everyone who came along 'cos without you all it would not have been as much fun. In total, over the weekend, we danced almost 200 dances and didn't do many of them twice! A big thank you also to Anita Ray who was on top form on Friday night, and to Goldstryke who kept us on the dance floor on Saturday night. Click here for the photos. We must also say thank you to the staff of the Albany Hotel for the superb way that they looked after us all weekend. We look forward to a return visit next year.

|
| The Haleys |
Playing to a packed hall, Becky, Jo-ann and Brian (not to mention "Dad") thrilled us all with a first class performance. Thanks to everyone who came along - we welcomed quite a few new faces tonight and hope to see you all again at our future socials.
|
|
| Chris Raddings |
Chris kept everyone dancing on a cold, wet night. Many thanks to everyone who attended - I know you all enjoyed it. Chris will be returning with his band, Trick Rider, at a later date.

|
| Sambuca |
This was the second visit to Sutton by Sambuca, and, as expected, they did not disappoint. Click on the link for the pictures.

|
| Rivendel Country |
Local country music duo, Denise and Graham, gave us a wonderful night of dance. All who attended agreed that it was a very enjoyable evening with a lovely atmosphere.

|
| Chris Owen |
Thanks to everyone who attended the evening with Chris Owen. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. Chris has a great voice and we look forward to his return visit next year. Keep watching our web site for updates!

Charity Night We held a social night at St. Thomas’ Hall in Sutton in Craven. During the night we held a raffle and loose change collection. We then held a draw at the end of the evening to choose which charity was to receive the proceeds. The draw was won by Sheila Rushton who asked for the money, £102.08, to go to the AIREDALE CANCER SUPPORT GROUP. I'd like to thank everyone for their kind support.
|
|
| Saloon Drifters |
Well, What can I say? John and Neil are brilliant entertainers and kept everyone enthralled with their singing and their own very special brand of humour. Fantastic night for dancers and non dancers both.
|
|
| Beach Party |
Loads of fun for everyone who came to our midsummer party dressed appropriately for the beach and bearing contributions towards the picnic. The event was full of laughter and frolics and a good time was had by all. Also, thanks go to Lisa who entertained us with her singing.
